Tofu "fish phillets"

These are just fantastic! My life has changed a bit since I discovered these babies. If you leave out the nori and use different spices, you can transform these into whatever you want. Use your imagination.


RECIPE
 1 packet of extra firm tofu, drained

Dry ingredients:
3/4 cup Panko
1/4 cup regular breadcrumbs (I used only regular, because we can't find Panko in this country!!!)
2 tbsp flour
3 tsp nori powder (makes the fishy taste, I used nori sheets and just ground them up in the food processor)
1 tbsp Old Bay seasoning
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
Salt, pepper

Wet ingredients:
4 tbsp apple cider vinegar
2 tsp brown sugar
2 tsp nori powder
1/2 tsp Old Bay seasoning
Salt, pepper

Check the pictures for instructions:

Cut the tofu in slices, not too thin

Dry ingredients in one bowl

And liquids in another bowl

Put the tofu in the liquids, than the flourmix and spray them with cooking spray

Pop them in the oven for 25 minutes on 425 F



They look like this when they come out. A little crispy and delicious!

Serve them on a nice bun or with anything you like!

Facon (Tofu bacon)

Bacon have always been one of my favorites. But it unfortunately comes from a dead animal, and who would want to stuff themselves with such things? Not me. Luckily we can make healthy and cruelty free bacon out of tofu. Isn't it amazing? It tastes almost like the real thing! Well, I actually think it's much, much better than the real thing. Maybe because it doesn't contain corpse-parts.


RECIPE

1 box extra firm tofu
Oil for frying

Marinade
2 tsp liquid smoke
2 tbsp nutritional yeast
1/4 tsp salt
2 tbsp soy sauce

Cut the drained and dried tofu into small pieces. The smaller pieces, the more crunchy you will get the bacon, and that's good.



Fry the tofubits in oil until they get a little golden. Whisk together the marinade and pour it over the tofu. Stir often and let it fry until they are crispy but not burned.


Serve these babies with pancakes or on a sandwich or whatever you crave.
