I tell you - this dish is one of my absolute favorites! It has an incredible aroma, it's just so insanely delicious! You must try it! And yes, you have to add all the spices, even the cardamum.
RECIPE
Spicy nutpaste
1,5 dl raw (no salt) cashews
2 large tbsp fresh grated ginger (it has to be fresh, not powdered)
4 shredded cloves of garlic
1 tsp turmeric
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp cardamum
1/2 tsp chiliflakes or chilipowder
A little oil
Sauce
2,5 dl vegan cream (I use 1 packet Oatly cream)
1 dl water
1 chopped onion
Salt, pepper
1/2 can of peas or chickpeas (i like green peas in this dish)
1 small cauliflower in pieces, half cooked
Put the cashewnuts in the food processor and blend them until it's powdered. Add the spices and garlic and blend a little more. Add sone oil and blend until it's a paste.
Pour some oil in a casserole and fry the onion. Add the nutpaste and fry a little more. It will start to smell incredible. Don't let it burn! Add water and cream and let it simmer for 5 minutes. Put in the cauliflower and peas and let it simmer for 5-10 more minutes.
Serve with rice or pasta.
